My Family Photography Session- Orange County Family Photographer

Ten years ago, I met the most amazing person that would become my husband, Mikko. Through this marriage, I gained two beautiful daughters – Hayley and Mia. When Mikko suggested taking family photos while Hayley was home during her Christmas break, I realized that I had taken many photos of the girls throughout the years – but never of all of us together as a family.

I got to appreciate what my clients go through at their end before a shoot. Hayley has always had beautiful natural blonde hair, but unexpectedly this time came home as a brunette instead!  After the initial surprise, I realized she actually looked great as a brunette. Pulling together the wardrobe did not go as originally planned either. I had a black color theme in mind, but wanted to break it up a little. Hayley was going to wear a black top with white piping in it, a top that belongs to her younger sister. My mistake was waiting until the day of the shoot to discover that the top did not fit her. Despite surprises and last-minute wardrobe changes, we pulled it off and got loving pictures of the whole family as well a beautiful image of the sisters with their Dad.  I guess the whole thing just went down like the name of a classic play by Shakespeare: “All’s well that ends well”.

P.S. I surprised Mikko for his birthday with a few beautiful wall portraits from the shoot!!

Heritage Hill Historical Park – Family Photography

First time photographing at the beautiful and historical Heritage Hill Park in Lake Forest. Fully restored historical buildings and lovely scenery that preserves some of Orange County’s rich culture heritage.  I always photograph in color but felt this historical venue was perfect for black and white photos. Andrea love this image so much she ordered a wall portrait. I photographed Josh many years ago for his high school senior session. Since then he has gotten married to Jamie. Such a cute couple.

Always a pleasure to photograph Andrea and Terry. They’re so much in love and have been married a very long time. Jonah is really growing up. Looking forward to next year’s photo session with this wonderful family.

Family Photography in Laguna Beach

What a fun session I had with a family from Seattle visiting California on their summer vacation. A family of ten, with Grandparents, too! Two sets of twins!!! Cousins, Clover, Estella, Astrid and Adria !! DSC_5992 logoA big thank you to Larry from Rock Art from the Heart for letting me use his Love letters as that made this photo so special.

I got the nicest comment after the family saw the photos, “It has been so fantastic working with you.  I wish I lived in Orange County so I could recommend you to more people!!”

Family Portraits in the Park

Not often that I photographed out of Orange County but if a client wants to go to a special place like Griffith Park then I love to try a new venue. ADSC_0192 LogoADSC_0235 LogoADSC_0258 LogoWhen a baby cannot sit, you have to come up with a creative way to pose them. Family Photography at the Historical Mission

This is my third year of being a member of the historical San Juan Capistrano Mission Preservation Society. The Mission is one of my favorite places to photograph families. I had a wonderful family session in July with this lovely family.

The above door used to be the entrance to the Mission gift shop so now that it has been relocated the door is closed and I can use it for a great backdrop.057I love walking images and the expressions on the faces of the parents convey their love for each other. Bradey CollageThe youngest in a window is cute.
