When I met with Tracy, I learned that she had a love for writing and skateboarding & she wanted me to photograph her in Laguna Beach. After seeing Tracy’s skateboard, I wanted to incorporate that in the shoot. I suggested besides the beach we shoot in the urban area of Laguna. We did the beach and the village in Laguna Beach. It was a beautiful day and we captured images that Tracy and her family loved.Earlier in the shoot, I saw that Tracy had these cool aviator glasses and I had to use them.
Sam had already picked out the venue for her senior session. The Lab Anti Mall and Camp in Costa Mesa which is known for its hipster urban vibe. Her Mother googled Lab Anti Mall and found photos from Kathryn LeBoye Photography taken of High School Seniors. She loved the images and set up an appointment for a consultation where we went over Sam’s wardrobe and set a date.
One very hot day in April, we met for Sam’s session along with her Mom, Grandmother and Aunt. Who were beaming about how beautiful Samantha looked during the shoot.
Sam will start her freshman year out at the University of Hawaii this fall. Great wardrobe, cute dresses, shoes, etc….
Jenny was my fifth referral from one of my clients. It is so wonderful to get referrals. I do reward my client’s by giving complimentary sessions and wall portraits, too! It was such a gorgeous spring day during Jenny’s session. We started out in downtown Laguna and then went to South Laguna. An urban/beach session for a California girl. I loved Jenny’s wardrobe. Downtown Laguna is filled with great backdrops.
I had the pleasure of photographing a high school senior’s 18th Birthday. Rhona’s heritiage is Phillippines. On their 18th birthday, Filipinas customarily throw a large party, complete with a her own hand-picked entourage of 18 people. They present her with roses. It was fun and very interesting to photograph. I had a blast. Love the getting ready images. There was a green apple in the suite where Rhona was getting ready, and it was perfect for photographing jewelry on.The event was held at The Renaissance Club Sports Hotel in Aliso Viejo. They have this amazing wall of water that was a great backdrop.
Ryan was a referral! I love referrals and I always reward my clients when they give me a referral by giving them a $100 print credit on their next shoot. I had one client that accumulated $500 in print credit and ordered several metallic wall portraits for her home. I met with Ryan and his Mother for a consultation about his shoot. They really wanted a beach shoot. I told them about my favorite beach in South Laguna, what I like about it there are so many background options besides with the beach scene. I enjoy photographing at different angles. The one above, I was high up above Ryan and the one below, I was on ground level. Footprints… the sun on the sand made it glimmer.
Ryan is very photogenic with piercing blue eyes and a really sweet young man.
