18th Rose’s Celebration

I had the pleasure of photographing a high school senior’s 18th Birthday. Rhona’s heritiage is Phillippines. On their 18th birthday, Filipinas customarily throw a large party, complete with a her own hand-picked entourage of 18 people. They present her with roses. It was fun and very interesting to photograph. I had a blast. Love the getting ready images. There was a green apple in the suite where Rhona was getting ready, and it was perfect for photographing jewelry on.The event was held at The Renaissance Club Sports Hotel in Aliso Viejo. They have this amazing wall of water that was a great backdrop.

Ryan was a referral! I love referrals and I always reward my clients when they give me a referral by giving them a $100 print credit on their next shoot. I had one client that accumulated $500 in print credit and ordered several metallic wall portraits for her home. I met with Ryan and his Mother for a consultation about his shoot. They really wanted a beach shoot. I told them about my favorite beach in South Laguna, what I like about it there are so many background options besides with the beach scene. I enjoy photographing at different angles. The one above, I was high up above Ryan and the one below, I was on ground level. Footprints… the sun on the sand made it glimmer. 
Ryan is very photogenic with piercing blue eyes and a really sweet young man. 

Josh – Orange County High School Senior Photographer

Josh was amazing to photograph. Very enthusiastic about his shoot. I loved that his Mom, Dad, Brother and best friend came on our shoot. They were so helpful and gave the shoot high energy. Front of Announcement card that Josh is using. I called the above photo “Fruit of Labor”, reflecting Josh’s four years in high school. How perfect to photograph in a Orange Grove in Orange County. I bought this chair just for this shoot.


Josh looks like the handsome actor, John Cusack. Red Caboose, perfect for a senior guy!!! Josh’s Mom wrote to me:

Our family and my Son Josh extremely enjoyed our experience with Kathryn during his Senior photo shoot she did for us. I highly recommend Kathryn for senior photos, as she thinks outside the box in her location picks, and creates refreshing, one of a kind photos that come out fantastic. We will definitely be asking Kathryn to do our next family photo shoot. Thanks Kathryn!

 

Wild Sorbet – Frames!!

I have this amazing vendor that I use for frames, Wild Sorbet. The frames are hip, fun & unique. What is really awesome is their design service for wall groupings. I go out to my client’s home & take measures and photographs of the wall that their wall grouping will go on. Wild Sorbet designs two groups ideas with the images I took in their frames and even places it on the client’s wall so they can visualize how it will look. The feedback has been fabulous. My clients are loving it. They’re amazed. The design cost is $20. Such a deal! If my clients orders the grouping then I waive the fee. Every time, my clients see their designs, they want it. Thank you Wild Sorbet for making my art looks so great!
