My Family Photography Session- Orange County Family Photographer

Ten years ago, I met the most amazing person that would become my husband, Mikko. Through this marriage, I gained two beautiful daughters – Hayley and Mia. When Mikko suggested taking family photos while Hayley was home during her Christmas break, I realized that I had taken many photos of the girls throughout the years – but never of all of us together as a family.

I got to appreciate what my clients go through at their end before a shoot. Hayley has always had beautiful natural blonde hair, but unexpectedly this time came home as a brunette instead!  After the initial surprise, I realized she actually looked great as a brunette. Pulling together the wardrobe did not go as originally planned either. I had a black color theme in mind, but wanted to break it up a little. Hayley was going to wear a black top with white piping in it, a top that belongs to her younger sister. My mistake was waiting until the day of the shoot to discover that the top did not fit her. Despite surprises and last-minute wardrobe changes, we pulled it off and got loving pictures of the whole family as well a beautiful image of the sisters with their Dad.  I guess the whole thing just went down like the name of a classic play by Shakespeare: “All’s well that ends well”.

P.S. I surprised Mikko for his birthday with a few beautiful wall portraits from the shoot!!

Heritage Hill Historical Park – Family Photography

First time photographing at the beautiful and historical Heritage Hill Park in Lake Forest. Fully restored historical buildings and lovely scenery that preserves some of Orange County’s rich culture heritage.  I always photograph in color but felt this historical venue was perfect for black and white photos. Andrea love this image so much she ordered a wall portrait. I photographed Josh many years ago for his high school senior session. Since then he has gotten married to Jamie. Such a cute couple.

Always a pleasure to photograph Andrea and Terry. They’re so much in love and have been married a very long time. Jonah is really growing up. Looking forward to next year’s photo session with this wonderful family.

Family Photography Session – Laguna

My favorite time of the year is meeting up with families that I have been photographing for years and catching up. Andrew has grown so big in one year. It wonderful to seeing the changes year after year.I love this image of Andrew. Lisa and David were celebrating their wedding anniversary. I had to get some photos with just them in it. This is one of my favorites. It is the little things that help in posing as I told them to have their heads touched. Making this image more special.

It always great to photograph at different angles. I like being high up above. Can’t wait to photograph this wonderful family in 2018!!! We are planning a session at Soka University in Aliso Viejo.

Family Holiday Photography 2017

It is that time of year again….Family Holiday Photos!!! I met Val back in 2008 for head shots. Since then I have photographed many milestones in Val’s life. Documenting when she had cancer, getting married to Charles, many family photo sessions with her son Jordan and step-daughter Charlie. I feel so privilege to photographed this beautiful family.
Love the expression on Charlies face in the Naughty/Nice image.

Val absolutely adored the muted image of her and Charles. It was a favorite!Always like to get couple images besides family and individual images.

Laguna Beach Family Portraits in Emerald Bay

I love meeting up every year with families that I have photographed many times. Especially with generations with the Grandparents. The Grandparents live in Laguna Beach at the beautiful Emerald Bay and when their son, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter come to visit from Reno every summer, we meet for their annual photo session. 002 Just happened to get lucky to have a sailboat in the background.

008009The grandmother loved this image of Lauren and is ordering a wall portrait. That is what I like about the beaches in southern California we have so much vegetation with flowers and cactus plants growing. You can get many different backgrounds besides the sand and ocean. 011At Emerald Bay, they had a building that I popped Lauren in front of as I liked the color and lines.

006The Grandmother had this to say about the images, “OMG..so cool, they’re adorable”. Which makes me so happy.
