Becky and Brendan got married at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana. This historical landmark is special to my heart as I got married there three years ago. Black and white image of the bouquet is perfection. Love that their son could be there to see his parents get married.
I had the pleasure of photographing my Brother’s wedding to his lovely bride Kirsten in Portland, Oregon at McMenamins Edgefield, a gorgeous setting. The wedding was very much a family affair. My sister, Lara, got ordained to marry Tobin & Kirsten. Kirsten’s cousin, Rickey designed the flowers and Kirsten’s niece, Ashleigh did the hair and make-up. McMenamins Edgefield has a vineyard. A perfect setting for photographing the rings. Great image and I got to eat grapes right off the vine!!The day before the wedding, I walked the grounds of McMenamins Edgefield and was enchanted by these birdhouses and knew that would be a perfect setting for the Bride’s Dress. I got up at sunrise and had my sister hold an off camera flash to illuminate the dress. I just love this image. The water tower and this garden shed was another great backdrop for the Bride’s dress.Suitcase belongs to the Bride’s Aunt. Of course I had to use it!!! Love vintage!!My sister-in-law looked GORGEOUS on her wedding day. This image is so dreamy of Kirsten. IOne of my favorite images of Kirsten. I put this look together the night before the wedding as I was inspired to use another light source besides natural light or a flash. We were staying in a house on the grounds of McMenamins Edgefield. I saw these velvet drapes that looked so dramatic, I dragged the chair and lamp from other rooms. Next day got this great image of the bride. Here is my handsome brother! The very happy Bride and Groom! These photos are my wedding gift to my brother and my beautiful new sister-in-law, Kirsten of their special day.
We got married at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana, the oldest courthouse in Southern California. It is a historical landmark. I saw it the first time last year when I photographed a family at the courthouse. I was enchanted by the architecture, and all the movies that have been filmed there as Mikko and I are movies buffs. I thought it was a good fit for us to get married. My photographer, Alyssa Michelle Photography really captured my vision. Thank you Alyssa Michelle Photography for the wonderful images you created on our special day. I made Mikko practice this kiss several times before our wedding which he was happy to do!!Love the reflection of the courthouse!I am such a bubble of happiness. I love being married!
I had the most amazing workshop with Rick Ferro, a legend in wedding photography. He created the wedding department @ Disney World. An entire day spent with Rick was like a dream come true. We had models dressed in gorgeous gowns, hair and makeup beautifully done. I learned so much about lighting and posing. How hand placement properly done can really enhanced an image. It was such an inspirational day for me. Here are some of my favorite photos that I took.
These photos were taken inSanta Ana at City Place. So many great back drops to inspire us. It was a perfect over-cast day creating soft diffused light with only a silver reflector to bounce light on our bride’s face. Love the red and white contrast.
My first entry in my new blog. Thank you Andrea of Lucky 19 Branding for creating my wonderful new blog. This wedding that I photographed is very special to me as I have known the Bride, Val for a couple of years and have documented events in her life through my camera lens. Capturing her lovely wedding was a great experience for me. To see Val so happy with Charles was icing on the cake!!
