Prom Photography – High School Senior

One Saturday afternoon, I went with my lovely Step-daughter, Hayley to pick out her prom dress. We went to so many places and just as we were about to give up, we went in to Lili’s of Beverly Hills. The moment Hayley slipped into this gown, we knew it was the one that looked great on her & she felt special in it.
001 Logo Hayley and JP have known each other since they were three months old and met in a Mommy and Me class. Although they’re not dating, they are good friends. 005 Logo 016 Logo We did your typical backyard photos but at a gorgeous home in Pacific Palisades that looked more like a park. 017 Logo 020 Logo 022 Logo 026 Logo 028 Logo 011 Logo DSC_3760Last photo is father and daughter together!!! ADSC_3847 Horizontal cropped

Best Photos of 2014

After votes from clients, friends and family they decided on the Best Photos of 2014 that I took. The number one image with the most votes was this gorgeous portrait of Sophia sitting in a window at the Mission in San Juan Capistrano. It had 29 votes because of those votes she is receiving a 16×20 wall portrait to cherish forever.

Third place was one of my favorites from the year, Baby Christopher’s feet. The comments on this image:  So unique – makes you study it! and Very artistic.001The last image with a lot of votes was Baby Lexi in a crate. Her image had the most comments of any of the photos:

I love this little girl sitting in the box. The colors are bright but blend together really well. I like how one of the flowers on her headband matches the color of the box. Her pose is so casual natural for a toddler. She holding onto the box, but not gripping it for dear life. She looks like she’s playing. I like having the autumn too because I think everyone has that picture of playing in a pile of leaves. And toothless smiles are just too cute!ADSC_0258 LogoOk – I had to vote for this one because the second I saw it I felt happy! The little darling looks as though she is having a great time and the picture is a great mix of nature, textures, light, cuteness and really could not be more perfect! I hope I don’t mess you up because I’m going to like 2 more – but this is my favorite GREAT WORK!!!

OMG!!!! That is the most precious picture ever!!!! You are AWESOME! What a gift you have with children.

Thank you to all my clients for inspiring my photography to create some very unique images. I am looking forward to 2015!!

My Brother, Tobin, Gets Married!!

I had the pleasure of photographing my Brother’s wedding to his lovely bride Kirsten in Portland, Oregon at McMenamins Edgefield, a gorgeous setting. The wedding was very much a family affair. My sister, Lara, got ordained to marry Tobin & Kirsten. Kirsten’s cousin, Rickey designed the flowers and Kirsten’s niece, Ashleigh did the hair and make-up. 001 LogoMcMenamins Edgefield has a vineyard. A perfect setting for photographing the rings. Great image and I got to eat grapes right off the vine!!DSC_8187 logoThe day before the wedding, I walked the grounds of McMenamins Edgefield and was enchanted by these birdhouses and knew that would be a perfect setting for the Bride’s Dress. I got up at sunrise and had my sister hold an off camera flash to illuminate the dress. I just love this image. DSC_8240 B&W LogoThe water tower and this garden shed was another great backdrop for the Bride’s dress.DSC_8216 LogoSuitcase belongs to the Bride’s Aunt. I put this look together the night before the wedding as I was inspired to use another light source besides natural light or a flash. We were staying in a house on the grounds of McMenamins Edgefield. I saw these velvet drapes that looked so dramatic, I dragged the chair and lamp from other rooms. Next day got this great image of the bride. 076 Photographer's Favorite080 Blog Photographer's FavoriteHere is my handsome brother! 003 LogoDSC_8290 Logo171 Blog Photographer's FavoriteThe very happy Bride and Groom!004 Logo156 Photographer's FavoriteDSC_8506 Logo cropped and Photoshop333 Photographer's FavoriteThese photos are my wedding gift to my brother and my beautiful new sister-in-law, Kirsten of their special day.

Hayley – Class of 2015 High School Senior Photography

Two things make this senior session extra special for me. 1. Hayley is my Step-daughter. 2. We photographed Hayley’s Senior Session in Finland!! Hayley’s Dad is from Finland. Since Hayley was baby she has gone almost every summer to Finland. This year, she is now a Finnish Citizen. Hayley has dual citizenship. Making it easier for her to live or work in Europe. 001Logo002 LogoThe above is a courtyard located at Turku Castle. A 13th Century Castle! Not everyday a girl has her senior session at a Castle!DSC_8235 LogoThis trip was my third visit to Finland and when I saw the beautiful red barn at Hayley’s Aunt’s Home, I knew that I wanted to photograph Hayley there for her senior session.
